Women’s Climbing Weekend

Come for the climbing. Leave with new skills, new confidence, and new friends.

Join Ground Up Climbing Guides this fall for a weekend of climbing, learning, and connection in the spectacular Eastern Sierra. While the weekend will focus primarily on traditional climbing skills—including gear placement, anchor building, and climbing movement on natural rock—this is not just a clinic for experienced climbers. Whether you're an established trad climber, a gym climber curious about the outdoors, or simply looking for a supportive community of women to share an adventure with, you'll find a welcoming place here. Our goal is to create an environment where climbers can learn at their own pace, challenge themselves, and enjoy time in the mountains with like-minded partners.

Beyond the climbing, this weekend is about building friendships and creating memorable experiences. We'll camp together beneath the Eastern Sierra sky, share stories around camp, and soak in local hot springs after rewarding days on the rock. Camping is encouraged as part of the experience, but not required. Come for the climbing, stay for the camaraderie, and leave with new skills, new confidence, and new friends.

“I spent 3 days climbing with Clay at the Ground Up adult climbing camp. It was a fantastic experience! I’d been trying to move from gym climbing to outdoor climbing for a while, and I learned more from Clay in just a few days than I had in months of trying to learn on my own.”
